The technology used in Airlink aircraft cabins filters 99.9% of pollutants, including COVID-19

Modern airplanes have cabin air filtration systems equipped with HEPA filters. HEPA, or ‘high efficiency particulate air filters’, have similar performance to those used to keep the air clean in hospital operating rooms and industrial cleanrooms. These filters are very effective at trapping microscopic particles as small as bacteria and viruses.

Managing COVID – The impact of airflow
The technology used in Airlink aircraft cabins means that the possible transmission of
COVID-19 onboard is reduced

Individual passenger masks are an effective option in helping to block any type of expelled droplet, minimising cross-infection risks.

The cabin air system is designed to operate most efficiently by delivering approximately 50% outside air and 50% fi ltered, recirculated air. This normally provides between 15 to 20 cubic feet of total air supply per minute per person in economy class. The total air supply is essentially sterile and particle-free.
