Law@work, a self-funded unit within UCT’s Faculty of Law, presents short courses on topical legal issues. The main objective of the unit is to generate a profit to feed back into the Law Faculty via the Dean’s Discretionary Fund and the Law Endowment Fund.
Law@work presents short law courses on: alternatives to traditional law careers; mergers and acquisitions; Chinese law and investment in Africa; commercial loan financing; corporate governance – shareholder activism; effective legal writing; legislative drafting; mediation training; software law; aviation law; whistleblowing; and Muslim marriage contracts, to mention a few.
Law@work partners with:
- GetSmarter/2U – offering a wide range of online courses such as data protection and privacy; occupational health and safety; and compliance management
- The advisory – offering online courses on sectional titles schemes management, and more
- Mediation in Motion Training Pty Ltd – offering mediation training, both online and at Nelson Wine Estate (Paarl)
