Discover Manyeleti Nature Reserve

Mpumalanga’s hidden safari treasure

In the heart of Mpumalanga, where untamed wilderness meets authentic African hospitality, lies a safari destination that promises unforgettable encounters with nature.

Manyeleti Nature Reserve, one of South Africa’s most remarkable wildlife destinations, offers visitors the opportunity to experience the magic of the African bush in its purest form.

Meaning ‘place of the stars’ in the Shangaan language, Manyeleti Nature Reserve is a spectacular conservation area situated within the world-renowned Greater Kruger ecosystem. Sharing unfenced boundaries with the Kruger National Park, Sabi Sand Nature Reserve and Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, Manyeleti allows wildlife to move freely across a vast natural landscape, creating exceptional game-viewing opportunities throughout the year.

For travellers seeking an authentic safari experience away from crowded tourist routes, Manyeleti is your go-to place. Its vast wilderness, limited vehicle numbers and exclusive safari experiences provide visitors with intimate encounters with Africa’s iconic wildlife.

Witness extraordinary wildlife moments

The reserve is home to the legendary Big Five. Every game drive offers the possibility of amazing wildlife sightings, from a pride of lions basking in the morning sun to a herd of elephants making their way to a nearby waterhole.

Visitors frequently enjoy remarkable encounters with lions and leopards, while sightings of the endangered African wild dog provide a rare and exciting highlight for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers alike.

Bird lovers will find themselves equally captivated. The reserve boasts an impressive diversity of birdlife, with more than 300 species recorded. From colourful kingfishers and lilac-breasted rollers to majestic eagles and vultures, Manyeleti offers endless opportunities for birdwatching and nature photography.

Expertly guided game drives reveal fascinating insights into animal behaviour, conservation efforts and the intricate ecosystems that sustain this thriving wilderness. Guided bush walks provide a deeper connection with nature, allowing guests to discover the smaller wonders of the reserve while learning traditional tracking skills and ecological knowledge from experienced field guides.
